Freedom!

Last night Jameson and I went over to Papa Grand's house to see his new carpet in the basement. What was once a bare cement floor is now a child's dream - open space with beautiful new carpet to slide on. As soon as the guys were done installing the carpet, Jameson and I went downstairs to inspect their work, and enjoyed the wonderful empty expanse of the basement. At one point, while running from one end to the other, Jameson raised his arms and yelled, "Freedom!" I don't have a picture of that moment, but did get one of Jameson running around at his recent preschool field trip. I think it aptly illustrates the sentiment...

We also found out yesterday that Hadley is potty trained. Jameson was so proud of her, and asked if he could call her on the phone to talk about it. What came next was the sweetest conversation I've heard in a long time. Jameson started by telling Hadley congratulations on her potty achievement, and Hadley told him about her mermaid Halloween costume. Hadley sang "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", Jameson sang "We Will Rock You". Jameson told Hadley that he loved her, and Uncle Brian, and they returned the love. It was so precious to hear their little voices together; I can only hope that it's the start of a long life of friendship and love.
